Earn Your Way

Camp Hitaga's fees are kept relatively low by many generous cash and in-kind donations, grants and volunteer hours given by alumni, community groups, and other friends.  For those campers who would like to contribute to paying their own fees, and for families who need some assistance in sending their kids to camp, here are some options:

Campership Applications

To be considered for need-based financial assistance, completed campership appli-cation forms and any supplemental information must be received in the Iowana Council Camp Fire Service Center by May 1, 2012.

"Earn Your Way To Camp" (EYWTC) Candy Sale

Help pay your way to camp and support your local Council!

 
Each $2 candy bar earns you 70 cents toward your camp fees and 30 cents to support Iowana Council Camp Fire programs. Cases of 25 assorted World's Finest Chocolate bars may be picked up March 5-9 at the Camp Fire Service Center, open daily 9 am - 4:30 pm, and until 6 pm on Tuesday, March 6 and Wednesday March 7 for easier candy pick-up.   All proceeds and un-opened cases must be turned in by April 6.  No opened cases may be returned.

Anyone selling 4 or more cases receives a $5 camp store credit.
 
Overall top seller wins a Camp Fire sweatshirt and $5 camp store credit.


Calling all buglers!

If you play the bugle, trumpet or coronet,
you may apply to be a 'bugler of the week'
and receive a discount in your camp fees
for taking on that responsibility.

 
Only one bugler is needed for each week of summer camp, so apply early!

Volunteer and receive credit for one camper

An adult may volunteer to live and work at Camp Hitaga for one week during
the summer camp season in exchange for a $260 credit for one camper.
Duties might include helping in the kitchen, general cleaning
and/or light maintenance.
